No short course is complete without the right schedule of activities. Group activities are included in the itinerary and optional activities are available during the students’ free days.
Phi Beta Dingo works with Universities to schedule any and all of the following to get the right blend of outings:
• cultural tours
• historical sites
• theatrical performances
• art museums
• adventure activities
• community programs
• optional excursions
The activities are scheduled and designed to enhance the travel experience and the learning process. We also help to determine which events the University and faculty would like to see included for the entire group and which activities should be optional for purchase by students who elect to take part in other activities. Each itinerary can be developed to include the following group excursions:
• a performance at the famous Sydney Opera House
• an authentic Maori “Hangi” Feast in New Zealand
• a bus tour and briefing on the Lord of the Rings filming sites on the South Island of New Zealand
• a tour of the Great Ocean Road in Melbourne
• a presentation and tour of the Royal Flying Doctors Service in Queensland
• a day of scuba diving on the great barrier reef
• a visit to an aboriginal art museum and cultural center in Australia
• student passes to the Art Museum of New South Wales, Australian History Museum and many other museums
• a visit to a crocodile farm and zoo with koalas, kangaroos and other famous Australian animals
• a “farm stay” in New Zealand with the experience of shearing sheep and use of sheep dogs
Optional activities will also be made available as the itinerary is fully developed. During periods of free time on the itinerary, Phi Beta Dingo arranges for tour operators to offer optional excursion packages to students and faculty for individual purchase. Everything from a day of horseback riding in the country to a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet can be offered as optional extras.
