Phi Beta Dingo Pty. Ltd. has a very unique ability to work closely with faculty and contribute to the design of the academic course content of short courses. We maintain outstanding networks of contacts in private industry, academia, government, health care, non-governmental organizations/non-profits, and many other professional areas in Australia & New Zealand.
“This is one of the key features that setting Phi Beta Dingo apart from other organizations, as it is hard to find a provider that offers a combination of services towards the content of the course plus outstanding logistics, management and travel agent support.” Emily Binstead, Manager International Short Courses
We use our networks to consult with faculty and advise them of various local options in Australia & New Zealand as they develop the course itinerary. After faculty decide what experts they might like to have as guest speakers or guest lecturers for a particular itinerary, Phi Beta Dingo will make personal contact with the preferred speakers from the preferred sectors and confirm the speakers’ participation in the itinerary for the group.
For business schools, this includes services like identifying and contacting industry leaders that will host a business school group at a manufacturing facility or at the company’s corporate offices. Visits can be organized to include executives from various parts of the company (marketing, operations, accounting, human resources, etc.) to give students a full picture of how the company operates. Question and answer sessions are also arranged as part of the meeting.
For political science students, visits can be arranged to the U.S. Embassy for briefings on in-country issues in the economic, political, and security areas. Meetings are also scheduled with the relevant Australian and New Zealand government bodies that would add value to the educational content of the short course for students of political science, government, and public policy.
For nursing students, we can set up an itinerary of visits to various hospitals and outpatient care centers, including public and private sector clinics, that will allow students in nursing to get a first hand view of the systems in Australia & New Zealand. Interviews with the Royal Flying Doctors and the nurses that operate in rural areas of Australia can also be organized. Meetings with the rural providers in New Zealand are also popular meetings for the nursing and medical groups.
For photography courses, everything from guest lectures from local photographers to scenic tours with unique photographic opportunities can be arranged with all the logistical details covered. This allows the faculty to focus on teaching the students how to take better photos rather than having to worry about bus arrival and departure times and the logistics of meeting guest speakers.
Our ability to handle the arrangements for all of the logistics, including course content, allows faculty to focus on course design and content, thus eliminating the need for back and forth E-mail exchanges and late night phone calls for local arrangements. This adds value to the short course design and implementation as it improves the quality of the itinerary and greatly reduces the inefficiency of managing the schedule from abroad.
