Total Cost for the Phi Beta Dingo Internship Program, May 31 – August 3, 2009: US$4,600.00
This includes the following:
• Shared accommodation in Cairns, Australia
• Shared accommodation in Sydney, Australia
• Airport pick-up and drop-off in Cairns & Sydney
• Welcome lunches in Cairns & Sydney
• Farewell dinners in Cairns & Sydney
• Group Welcome dinner in Sydney
• Group “mid-internship” bar-b-que on July 4th in Sydney
• Full Day Boat Trip on the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns
• Visit to a crocodile farm in Cairns
• Visit to the Royal Flying Doctors Service Cairns Operation Center
• Orientation Walking Tour in Sydney
• Weekly Travel Pass for unlimited trips on bus, train, and ferry – orientation/first week in Sydney
• Staff support from a full time Phi Beta Dingo staff person during orientation in Cairns and Sydney
• On-going staff support during the entire internship program – May 31 – August 3
• All management fees for arrangement and coordination of student internship
This US$4,600.00 total cost does not include the following:
• International airfare. Phi Beta Dingo works with travel agent partner, VS&R Travel (www.vsrtravel.com) in Washington, DC for all international round-trip tickets from the U.S. to Australia. Phi Beta Dingo has prepared a block of discounted seats for all flights (U.S. – Cairns, Cairns – Sydney, Sydney – U.S.) that students can purchase directly from VS&R. Purchasing tickets on this group booking will allow students to fly with the group the entire way. Estimated cost: US$2,400.00
• Transportation to the airport departure in the U.S. and transportation from the airport arrival in the U.S. varies from student to student.
• Fees for Australian Visa application and processing fees. Estimated cost: US$250.00
• Tuition: varies from institution to institution. If a student’s home University charges tuition, these fees are paid directly to the home institution
• Weekly: meal expenses: US$50.00-US$70.00 (varies from student to student)
• Weekly: entertainment costs: US$50.00-US$100.00 (varies substantially from student to student)
• All optional travel excursions: US$0.00 – US$2,000.00+ (varies substantially from student to student)
• One time application fee that is paid to Phi Beta Dingo Pty. Ltd. with submission of the application: AU$75.00 |
